The annual assessment for the Division of Student Life begins July 1 and ends June 30 of each year.

Assessment plans

Due by July 30

Annual assessment plans outline goals, objectives or outcomes, measures, metrics, collection plans, and other key details that define what will be assessed in the upcoming year. Departments submit their plans annually for review using established rubrics, ensuring consistent feedback and continuous improvement. 

Assessment reports

due by June 30

Assessment reports summarize collected data, document results, provide an analysis of findings, and outline action plans for improvement in the upcoming year. Reports are reviewed using established rubrics, and units receive feedback to guide next steps. 

Assessment Cycle

July 1- July 31

  • Develop, review, or refine the mission statement, objectives, outcomes, measures, metrics, and targets. 
  • Incorporate recommendations or action items from the previous year’s assessment report. 
  • Define the data collection process. 
  • Submit the assessment plan for review. 

August 1 – May 30

  • Carry out activities and gather data. 
  • Capture results for key objectives and outcomes. 
  • Organize and clean the data. 

May 1 – June 30

  • Review findings for the relevant objectives and outcomes. 
  • Share and discuss results with team members or other stakeholders to gather recommendations. 
  • Develop an action plan for improvement implementation. 
  • Submit the annual assessment report.
